Our Story...
Miranda was sitting in a kennel at the Animal Defense League in San Antonio, Texas when we first saw each other. I went to the shelter to pick up a companion for a “new start" after some life changes. She looked broken-hearted as if she had no idea why she was there. We connected. The good people at the shelter saw this connection and let me adopt her.
We went home and started our new life together. For one entire year Miranda did not make a sound. She didn’t even whimper. She just ran around and gazed at me. She was a good dog, kind, loving and always excited when I came home. Weeks turned into months and still not one sound. I took her everywhere with me hoping she was OK. Her past history was unknown and there were some indicators suggesting she had not been treated well.
Then it happened. Exactly one year to the day she was adopted and came to her forever home she BARKED! I'll never forget it. She was sitting at the front window barking, wagging her tail and running in circles until I picked her up! We made it! She was healed and happy…and in only the way that a dog can, she taught me a valuable lesson. All things in this life are temporary, trust yourself, and move forward. What a smart dog!

Miranda has become confident, full of personality and everyone who meets her is just crazy about her. She is an unconditional friend and confidant. She now has a “brother” JACK. Jack is a strong headed, quirky, funny, energetic Weimaraner and they are side by side all of the time. BoJangles was born through the journey with Miranda, and now Jack, out of a desire to create a healthy, happy environment for dogs and their families.
BoJangles is a partnership and a family affair. Parents and siblings are involved in the growth of the company. From general support of small business entrepreneurship to building of commercial kitchens to bake in…we work together. Our Moms bake, Dads build to create more areas to work in, kids cut out treats and box inventory and we all hope to grow this business into a life-long journey. We believe in America and small business. We believe in hard work and being inspired. We believe in positive, healthy living.
